Search Points

Use the drop down menu to search for point locations by category.

Type a location name to search for a specific point.

The search results will display below the search functions. The balloons on the map will change to show the number corresponding to the point in the results.

  

Search Addresses

Type an address to search for a specific address location.

  

Point Categories

The points are categorized. You can toggle each category.
  

Layers

You can toggle each layer.
  

Search Layers

Congressional Districts or watersheds can be retrieved.

    -. Select a layer you want to retrieve first and then enter numbers for district or HUC and/or text for states or watersheds.

  
 

Layer Search Results

The search results will display below the layer search functions. The information in bottom table will be changed to show the information corresponding to selected district or watershed in the result table.
  Map Funtions
    Measure Distance

Select the Measure Distance Tool. Click a starting point on the map to begin. Continue to click along a route you wish to measure. To go back one point use the Undo Tool . To remove the entire drawing use the Erase Tool .

The red-dashed box on the left calculates the cumulative distance. The beige box on the right calculates the distance of the current segment.
  

Measure Area

Select the Measure Area Tool. Click a starting point on the map to begin. Continue to click along the border of an area you wish to measure. To go back one point use the Undo Tool . To remove the entire drawing use the Erase Tool .

The blue box on the left calculates the cumulative distance. Area is calculated in square miles in the maroon box and in acres directly below. When you are ready to finish the polygon, press Enter.

  Default Map

  Select to return to the original view of the map site. The map will return to the original style (map, satellite, or hybrid) and zoom level. This will eliminate the search results and redisplay every point on the map.

  Recenter

Select to return to the default map view and zoom level. You will maintain the map style you are viewing (map, satellite, or hybrid) and your search results.

  

Zoom In/Out

Select the Zoom In or Zoom Out Tool to increase or decrease the viewing area on the map.

Click the Zoom In Tool and click once on the map. Expand the maroon box by moving the mouse, then left click again to choose the new zoom view.
Click the Zoom Out Tool and do the same to zoom out.


  Pan / Identify Tool

  Pan funtion:
Select the Pan / Identify Tool , then click and drag the mouse on the map to adjust the map view.

  Identify function:
- First, select a layer from to identify .

- Select the Pan / Identify Tool , then click the mouse on the map to identify the selected layer.
